It is a rare event in this day and age to find friendly, attentive, and quality people providing customer service. Today, we met such a rarity: Adam Horrocks.

Yesterday, we received a letter in the mail stating that our homeowner’s insurance policy, carried by Liberty Mutual, would be non-renewed because our roof is “missing 3 to 5 ridge cap shingles.” We’ve had a number of roofing companies look at our roof after hailstorms in the last several years. Not a single one has ever found a problem, so this news of missing ridge caps was indeed news to us.

When I called the insurance company, they stated that repairs would need to be immediate, documentation would need to be provided, and an appeal letter stating why we could remain customers would need to be written if we did not want an interruption in our insurance being provided. I had to dig through old paperwork to find the old roofing company that installed our new roof eleven years ago and what type of shingles had been installed. Unfortunately, when I called, I found out that the company that installed our roof has gone out of business. I was thankful to find that your company still carries our same shingles.

When I called Great Roofing and Restoration to see if your company carried the same shingles that had been installed, I spoke to Adam. He was friendly and helpful on the phone, but felt that looking at the roof would be best. He was able to come out to our home within the hour and assess the situation.

Upon Adam’s inspection, he only found two missing ridge caps. Adam took pictures to provide documentation that the roof was only missing two instead of the insurance company’s claim of three to five and said he’d send the pictures to me. Because our deductible is $1,000, we were discussing options. For only two missing ridge caps, I did not want to go to any great expense.

All of this was done free of charge, with a happy and helpful disposition, so I was very surprised about an hour later when the doorbell rang and Adam was there telling me that he’d like to fix our roof free of charge. He’d gotten matching roof shingle samples to replace the ridge shingles at a local home improvement store for free and he’d climb up on my roof and replace what was missing.

What Adam didn’t know is that my husband has had two recent back surgeries for a degenerative condition in his back, probably needs another and is currently out of work. My teaching job is coming to a close and I do not get paid in the summer. Our financial situation could be described as highly strained and getting worse. There wasn’t any way my husband could get up on the roof and fix it because of his back. For us to order the shingles and pay a crew to install two ridge caps would have been additional strain on our already bleak financial picture.

What Adam did for us, without us asking, but of his own volition, is unbelievably kind, considerate, thoughtful and an amazing demonstration of outstanding customer service. There wasn’t anything to be gained by him. The benefits are all ours. To see someone do something of this nature nowadays is indeed a rare event.

Because of Adam’s great customer service, we have every reason to believe that Great Roofing and Restoration is a reputable company that employs great candidates. I am a community manager with ACM and manage 11 homeowner associations. Brant Langdon with Great Roofing and Restoration and I have worked on several large scale roofing and gutter projects together. I initially contacted Brant after a hail storm and it was clear that the insurance company grossly underestimated the total claim values necessary to restore my clients’ properties. Brant took over the negotiations with the insurance company and my clients received the appropriate amount of money they needed to complete their project as a result. Brant ordered material and managed the project with efficiency and delicacy. Dealing with homeowner’s associations is always sensitive and issues always arise. Brant dealt with any and all issues that came up and my clients were extremely pleased with the outcome. They still rave about the speed, care, and efficiency of the project.

Because I had confidence in Brant’s abilities, he has since helped me with three other large roofing projects and dealings with the insurance companies. I am writing this letter for anyone looking for a roofing company they can trust.

I had three different roofing companies attempt to help with my efforts to replace my roof through insurance, with no results. After speaking with my neighbor, I found out that she had Great Roofing take over her negotiations with her insurance company, she got a new roof and Great Roofing also did a great job building her roof.

I spoke with Ron Williams at Great Roofing and he told me he would be happy to see what he could do. After about four weeks of negotiation and getting the insurance company to send out a new adjuster, I did get paid for my new roof. I like working with Ron because he is easy to get ahold of always answering his phone when I call. Ron was very professional through the whole process. Ron met with the adjuster and went up on the roof with the adjuster to show him the damage. When the insurance company had questions Ron always had the answer. It was not an easy process for Great Roofing, but in the end I did get my new roof and saved thousands of dollars by working with Great Roofing.

I have already referred a friend and a relative to Ron and would recommend him to anyone who needs roof work.

We had a severe storm in May of this year. We sustained damage to our roof ,cars and patio furniture. With this multiple damage in the community, the storm chasers were abundant. I spoke to several companies only to find out that they were not from Dayton and didn’t have any service in the area when they left.

I noticed my neighbor had contracted with Great Roofing & Restoration. Their roof looked great. I contacted Great Roofing & Restoration to discuss the damage to our roof. From the minute Constantine (General Manager) entered my home I felt assured and comfortable. No high pressure sales approach, only genuine interest on how his company could repair the damage. This included a walk through with the insurance adjuster, constructing a satellite view of our home, and arranging all the necessary material to rebuild the roof.

The day of installation was flawless. His crews were on time, courteous, and each had responsibility to ensure the success of the new roof, they covered all plants, patio furniture and kept the entire area around the home spotless. The work was completed in one day. From the home owners perspective, I would recommend Great Roofing & Restoration. This company cares for its customers and is a pleasure to work with.
